Workplace Training in the Textile Industry
ATITO, in conjunction with industry, has developed national certificates and diplomas for the textile sector.
Most training for the textile sector takes place on-the-job. Employees can have their skills and knowledge recognised by being assessed against industry unit standards and work towards gaining a national qualification. ATITO provides training support and assessment resources. Some qualifications also require trainees to complete unit standards outside work. These could either be unit standards covering technical knowledge or unit standards that complement the on-job training, such as unit standards in first line management.
